   WHO AM I

Name: Meredith

Likes: Writing, running, Hermione Granger, Boston

Dislikes: When I fall asleep with wet hair and wake up looking like Ed Sheeran

I'm in my third year at Northeastern University in Boston. As an English and Communications Major and Writing Minor, I don't "know" what I'm "doing." I do know that I'm interested in women's empowerment, politics, and rhetoric. I tutor in Northeastern's Writing Center, where we help all levels and types of university writers become better writers.

My graduating high school class consisted of forty girls in rural Virginia. I came to Northeastern from a community of young women, ready to translate four years of burgeoning feminism into the famed real world. Now, my global co-op allows me to revisit a community of forty girls, as the Leadership Resident in the Harpswell Foundation dormitory in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Check out Harpswell's website for more information into how they equip a future generation of women leaders to give back to their developing country.

DISCLAIMER

The views and opinions expressed in this blog are my own and do not reflect the opinions of The Harpswell Foundation.

Why I'm smizing next to spud/stud Mr. Potato Head: My first co-op was as a creative writer for the Games Team at Hasbro, Inc. in Rhode Island. I contributed to the development of exciting projects concerning not only nostalgia-fueled games like Monopoly, but also new and innovative products.
